If you ever find yourself in Norfolk craving a good hamburger and a cold beer, stop into Jack Brown’s Beer and Burger Joint. Jack Brown’s offers a number of great burgers and has a rotating selection of craft beer on tap along with a wide variety of bottled and canned beers.

While Jack Brown’s is a chain with several locations in Virginia and surrounding States, it has the feel of a local Mom and Pop establishment. Loads of character inside and good authentic neighborhood appeal. Located in Downtown Norfolk, it’s a great stop for anyone visiting on business or just in town for the day to enjoy the sites.
Parking is ample with plenty of spaces on the streets surrounding the bar as well as a public parking garage nearby. Limited seating inside Jack Brown’s due to Covid restrictions but generally easy to get a seat fairly quickly midday on a weekday. Once inside you’re greeted with dollar bill adorned walls and a chandelier that doubles as a bra hanger. The help is very friendly and a good source if you’re interested in the brewery scene in town. The Norfolk/Va Beach area has over 40 micro-breweries these days with several being outstanding.
Chandelier of bra’s and awesome beers. What’s not to like? Lazy days and hazy IPA’s.
Visiting on a Monday, I had the daily special; a Molly Dooker Burger w/firecracker onions, applewood smoked bacon and topped with blue cheese. Tasty! Decided to go with a local brew, a New England Style IPA, on tap from nearby Nansemond Brewing Station called Firefly Lamp. Even tastier!! Decided to have two as it was one of the better NE IPA’s I’ve had.

Pricing was reasonable to a little high as the burger was on the small side and they charge extra for fries. Two craft beers and a burger with fries came to $32.00 with tip included. Downtown location, friendly, with great atmosphere makes it all worth the visit.
