About

It seems a constant throughout my life has been to take advantage of my love of travel whenever opportunity knocked. Via both my Military and Civilian careers those opportunities have come my way allowing me to travel the world, seeing many amazing sites, cities and countries and meeting great people along the way. My name is Dave and I’ve experienced nearly every mode of travel known to man including, military and civilian aircrafts and ships, buses, ferries, cars and trains, with some hitch hiking and a good deal of backpacking and hiking along the way. Never one to let a lack of a hotel, a warm bed or a dwindling bank account stand in the way of participating in “the next great adventure”, I’ve found myself sleeping in airports, bus and rail stations, on overnight air, bus and train routes, or on a late night ferry or two. And I’ve done a fair amount of camping and “stealth” camping in some of the most beautiful places in the world. Sleeping on the beach during the day and finding friendly pub that stays open all night can be a great experience (if not a lifestyle). Speaking of Pubs, it also seems my travels have another common theme; finding the best “beer in the hemisphere, pint on the planet, or cerveza on the mesa”. As I get a little older, I thank God that I’ve not outgrown the love of travel or matured to the point I find these experiences beneath me. Through “From Beer to There” I’m going to enjoy tying my two great loves together and if I can help you along the way, well its all worth while. Haha, in reality, its worth it even if this doesn’t help you. May our paths cross on the trail, at the beach, in the airport, or better yet in a great Pub in a beautiful and exotic location. And may the first Pint be on you.
